What LD Total does
We are contracted to some of the largest Land Estate Developers in Australia to install Front Yard Landscaping Packages. These landscaping services are a part of your Developer's free incentive package which may also include fencing. LD Total only provides the landscaping portion of your incentive package.
We pride ourselves on our ability to design and construct Water Wise front yard landscapes, while at the same time meeting Local Council and Estate guidelines. These water conscious front yard landscapes are designed by our Consultants who liaise with homeowners on site to discuss the landscaping process.
The process:-
1. Application Voucher and Introduction Letter Procedure
When you have received the Application Voucher from your Developer, it is essential that you complete the Application Voucher and send it to the address noted on the voucher. This Application Voucher is our only means of contact with you, so please make sure that the details are current and easy to read.
Once we have received your application, we will respond back to you by sending you an Introduction Letter. This letter outlines the things that you need to complete on site before calling us to book a consultation, and is also confirmation that we have received your Application Voucher.
If you are planning to get your Builder to install the driveway, you must ensure that they install a conduit (90mm PVC storm water pipe) under the driveway which is for irrigation use only.
Before you call us to book your Landscape Consultation, it is essential that the following "Owner Responsibilities" have been completed:
Failure to complete the above Owner Responsibilities may cause the rescheduling of your Consultation.
You should also ensure that all hardscapes are complete, i.e.: driveways, retaining walls, paving, concrete kerbing, cross overs, fencing etc.. If these hardscapes are not completed, it can affect conduits, access and ultimately cause problems with completion of your landscaping.
2. What the package includes
Your Front Yard Landscaping Package only allows for installation of 'soft' landscaping. 'Hard' landscape features such as walls, concrete kerbing, fencing, brick and concrete paving etc are not included.
Your package includes one on-site Consultation, as well as reticulation, turf (Wintergreen Couch is standard), plants and mulch. We only install plants which are rated as Water Wise, and we encourage you to view our suggested list prior to your consultation.
3. The Consultation
The Consultation takes place on-site at your property, and is your chance to discuss and establish the shape of your garden with our Consultant. It is also the final step in our landscaping process before installation. Consultations are generally quite brief and are made easier if homeowner's are prepared by having a general understanding of what to expect after having read the Introduction Letter. After the consultation, changes are not easily made (as they require your Developers approval), so it is vital that you are happy with the finalised plans to avoid any installation delays.
4. The Installation
When the Consultation has been completed, the installation will be arranged. Our office will contact you within five to seven days of the Consultation to organise an installation booking dat. Please note that if your Consultation is incomplete, it will affect when your installation can be booked. Time management is one of LD Total's strengths, therefore once the date has been booked and confirmed; we ensure our arrival on that date. The installation will take a few days for completion, and can be conducted without the homeowner present, therefore alleviating time off work issues.
5. Water Exemption
You will need to contact the Water Corporation to apply for a water exemption for your landscaping. As your reticulation controller will be set to come on more frequently in the early days after installation, an exemption is required to avoid a fine for incorrect water use. Check the exemption once it arrives to confirm when you must set your controller back to your regular watering days. Your watering exemption will over-ride any current sprinkler bans. With Perth experiencing one of its driest winters on record, a 1-day per week sprinkler roster now applies to Perth, Mandurah and some parts of the South West from 1 October to 30 November 2010. The Water Corporation will not issue any warnings if you are found to be in breach of the ban, with on the spot fines now being issued directly to homeowner's.
